It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to achieve more at work. Maybe you want to feel more confident about how you’re integrating your time professionally and personally. Maybe you’re considering a career pivot but don’t know how to begin. Karen can help you identify the change you want to make and then work with you to make it happen.

Career Coaching

Career Coaching

We spend about a third of our lives working, so you want to make the most of this time. Hard work and technical skills are important, but sometimes you need to be more strategic in order to achieve your goals. Clients seek career coaching when they’re at a crossroads, when they want to get promoted, to succeed once they’ve taken on a new role, if they feel their career is stalling, or when they want to be more productive. Karen will help you become proactive with your career to spend more of your time tackling meaningful, challenging assignments, learning new things, being acknowledged for your contribution, getting the compensation you deserve, playing to your strengths, or making a career pivot. Working with Karen will enable you to clarify what you want and take the steps to meet your full potential.

Work-Life Integration & Wellbeing

Work-Life Integration & Wellbeing

My clients often come to coaching because they feel their lives are out of balance, and they can’t understand how other people make it look so effortless. The truth is it’s virtually impossible to have everything we want all at the same time. The key to work-life integration is getting clear about what is most important to you, learning tools for making trade-offs, and acting with intention about how you spend your precious time.

Coaching for Women

Coaching For Women

“What got you here won’t get you there.” The path to success for women has unique considerations along the way, and Karen can help you learn the most effective strategies to find fulfillment in your career, at any level. Key to this is understanding common pain points women face and helping you navigate them with ease. She provides a customized roadmap to support women so that they can raise their visibility, level up their leadership skills, create their personal brand, set and maintain boundaries, overcome perfectionism and imposter syndrome, become politically savvy, build and strengthen their professional network, communicate effectively, give and receive feedback, minimize unproductive emotions (like guilt), and learn to manage up, down, and sideways. There will be inflection points in your career that are tricky to maneuver without someone helping you through them. Whether you’re a senior leader or just starting out in your career, Karen will help you with what comes next.

Overcoming Insomnia

Overcoming Insomnia

Insomnia is often a learned habit that can be unlearned. Using an 8-week program, you can improve the quality and duration of your sleep which will improve your health, your mood, and your relationships at home and at work. You will use cognitive behavioral techniques to enhance your sleep and decrease your use of sleep medication. Karen used this method to finally win her 20-year battle with insomnia, and you can as well.

Parent Transition & Working Parents

Parent Transition & Working Parents

Are you expecting a child, currently on leave, or recently returned from a parental leave? Let's face it--this is an exciting time, and it can also be fraught with emotions. Coaching can help you successfully manage your career along with the new responsibilities that come with parenthood. Common topics include preparing for parental leave, creating a transition and handover plan, managing expectations, preparing a 100-day plan for a successful re-entry, leveraging succession planning, managing emotions, the gifts of delegation, overcoming parental bias, and embracing the idea of work-life enrichment.

The parent transition is simply the first step. You’ll be raising your kids for years, and each new phase brings new considerations. Coaching will help you manage your work as well as the multitude of decisions and transitions along the way. How many dinners will you have together as a family, how much travel are you willing to do for work, will your kids attend public or private school, which caregiving/home tasks are you willing to outsource, do you really have time to exercise, when is a good time to make a run for promotion, how many activities will each child be able to participate in, or what to do if they want to be part of a travel/competitive sports team? These are a few of the thousands of decisions you’ll be making, and Karen will help you identify your values as a parent, as a professional, and for your family, so you can make choices that honor these values.

Building Resilience & Managing Stess

Building Resilience &
Managing Stress

We live in an era that is overflowing with stress and struggle, and you may wonder why some people seem to be better at bouncing back from bumps in the road than others. How have you dealt with setbacks like a negative performance review, not getting the promotion you hoped for, watching your kids struggle, or adapting to an unexpected change? Resilience is a muscle you can build to bounce back and move forward rather than staying stressed out and stuck. Karen can help you develop strategies to deal with life’s challenges, so you can navigate through the obstacles and stressors you face while building a growth mindset.
